A sneak peek at what’s to come

Escape from the cities and their hordes of people and move to smaller towns such as picturesque Knysna. If it’s fresh air you are looking for, you will get it in bucket loads. Amazing beaches where you can walk or run for kms. or just take in the sunshine. As for the Knysna Forests that surround the town, there are many hiking trails as well as MTB routes to discover – so bring your bicycle along or you can hire one here in town on arrival. You could even get to ride with a local!
Whether you are a leisure or business traveller or just wanting to more your “office” to a less stressful environment, consider Hide Away Guest House as your home-away-from-home. We are sure that after your journey to Knysna, be it a short one or long one, you will be more than ready for a cup of tea, coffee, glass of wine or a cold beer. Sit and relax for a few minutes and get to know your hosts, Cecil & Colleen Harding. You will be introduced to all that Knysna and the surrounding areas have to offer. If you are needing any reservations to be made for either activities or restaurants, these will be dealt with quickly and efficiently. Then it’s off to your room to unpack and relax.
For the business traveller – and all other visitors to Hide Away – our complimentary high speed and uncapped WiFi is available in all areas. NETFLIX in all rooms. The complimentary tea/coffee tray is refilled daily. The small swimming pool is not heated but perfect to cool off after a day’s business or other activities. Safe, secure parking for all guests vehicles.
The 4* TGCSA graded Guest House/Bed and Breakfast (B&B), located on the main road, is approx. 1.5 kms from the centre of town, the Knysna waterfront and the ever increasingly popular Thesen Island. An approximate 20 minute walk to the waterfront before dinner is a great way to stretch your legs after a long journey. We suggest that you make use of our excellent taxi services to return to Hide Away after a leisurely dinner. The restaurants are more than happy to arrange transport for you.
With numerous restaurants and coffee shops in the area – see our Restaurant Page – you will be spoilt for choice and this after enjoying an excellent breakfast every morning prepared by Cecil. Guests are requested to fill in their breakfast menu the night before to ensure a freshly prepared meal in the morning! Our menu caters for most dietary requirements.
We regret no children under 12 and no pets are permitted. We are a LGBTQIA+ friendly establishment.
Make Knysna your base as you travel along the Garden Route. Unpack, catch up on laundry and simply relax instead of having to pack up and move on every morning to your next destination. Check out the distances to Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, Plettenberg Bay and Tsitsikamma here.
