Hideaway Guest House has recently been refurbished. Our well-appointed rooms all feature a warm drinks station and the complimentary tea/coffee trays are replenished daily. A mini fridge is stocked with water for your arrival and a range of high-end finishes and amenities ensure a most comfortable stay. Our pool offers private respite from summer’s heat and pool towels are provided. The main house welcomes visitors to make use of the guest lounge and enjoy breakfast in the dining room. A Continental style is available and an option of a warm breakfast all freshly prepared on request.
Our innovative initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint include a solar system that provides Hideaway Guest House with a constant supply of renewable energy – even during loadshedding (air conditioners are the only appliances that will not operate during electricity cuts). We filter the water supplied by the municipality and harvest rainwater for use throughout the property, including the laundry facilities that guests are welcome to take advantage of.
Hideaway Guest House is a 4-star TGCSA graded establishment overlooking the Knysna Estuary and The Heads. The shops and sights of the centre of town are approximately 1.5 km from the guest house, while the Knysna Waterfront and Thesen Harbour Town are within walking distance. You may be pleasantly surprised by Knysna’s variety of restaurants and coffee shops, and will be spoiled for choice when it comes to the array of activities in the area.
On arrival your hosts, Cecil and Colleen Harding, will be on hand to answer your questions and assist with making any additional bookings while you enjoy a complimentary cooldrink, cup of tea or coffee, glass of wine or ice cold beer. Previous owners and now managers of Hideaway Guest House, the Hardings worked in the international and domestic airline and tourism industries for many years before first opening the guest house nearly 20 years ago. They have both travelled extensively and are an integral part of the local tourism industry. Their knowledge of tourism offerings extends throughout South Africa and they will be happy to make recommendations locally and further afield, and can assist with onward reservations for the rest of your journey.
